Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zulfitri Azuan Mat Daud is currently an Associate Professor at Universiti Putra Malaysia and serves as the Honorary Treasurer of the Malaysian Dietitians’ Association for the 2023–2025 term. He has a strong history of service to the MDA, having previously served as a council member (2014–2015) and Assistant Honorary Secretary (2015–2017). Dr. Zulfitri has also contributed significantly to the profession through his involvement with the National Dietetic Education Committee (NDEC) and by representing dietitians as a sub-committee member of the Malaysian Allied Health Council, including the Committee for Recognition of International Academic Qualifications.
A passionate advocate for the role of dietitians in nephrology, Dr. Zulfitri actively promotes renal nutrition in Malaysia. He advances the profession through academic teaching, research, networking, and capacity building for dietitians both locally and internationally, strengthening peer influence in renal nutrition practices.
