Dietitians How to become a dietitian?

Dietitian is trained professional who have credible qualifications to conduct nutritional assessment, nutrition diagnosis and nutrition intervention in prescribing and customizing the diet, whether normal or with modification of consistency or nutrient(s) to meet the needs of the individual based on the medical problems. The dietitian is a recognized professional trained with the skills to provide dietary consultation in relation to medical and health, whether in disease – state or for wellness.

There are three (3) pathways to qualify as a dietitian in Malaysia:-

  • Obtain a 4 year integrated undergraduate degree in Dietetics (with proof of having done Dietetics Internship Training) as the following:
    • Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Dietetics or
    • Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Nutrition & Dietetics
  • Obtain integrated postgraduate degree or Master degree in Dietetics with proof of having done Dietetics Internship Training
