Prof. Dr. Barakatun Nisak Mohd Yusof is a Professor and Deputy Dean of Academic (Health Sciences) & Student Affairs at Universiti Putra Malaysia. She has been actively involved in the Malaysian Dietitians’ Association (MDA), serving on the council from 2012–2014 and again from 2017 to the present, and currently holds the position of President for the 2023–2025 term. A dedicated advocate for dietetics education, she is also an active fellow of the National Dietetics Education Committee (NDEC), formerly known as TFDE. Her notable contributions include initiating the Rising Star Awards to recognize emerging leaders in dietetics, as well as enhancing the academic landscape and student engagement in Malaysia. She continues to champion professional development among MDA members, particularly in academia, and plays a key role in developing special interest groups to lead the creation of evidence-based guidelines and foster multidisciplinary collaboration.
